This policy explains how personal data is processed on rafaelpfister.ch under the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG). Last updated: 24 August 2026.

Processing and purposes

To run the website via Cloudflare, technical connection data (including the IP address) is processed so the site can be provided securely and reliably. In addition, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and load times in aggregate form; no cookies are set and no individual persons are identified.

PostHog (EU) is also used to understand how the website is used and to improve it.

Tools

Two tools are available under /tools.

When a domain is checked, the mail DNS check queries third parties directly from the browser. These are Cloudflare (DNS over DNS-over-HTTPS), Google (fallback resolver if Cloudflare does not answer), RIPE NCC (network owner and country of an IP address via stat.ripe.net), archive.prove.email (public directory of observed DKIM selectors) and flagcdn.com (flag icons). What is transmitted: the domain being checked, the IP addresses resolved from it and the country code, each together with the browser's IP address.

A DKIM selector you enter yourself is reported back to archive.prove.email only if you click the corresponding button. That entry is then public and permanent.

The browser keeps the most recently checked domains locally so they can be offered as shortcuts. They are not transmitted. On a shared device the next person can see them; clearing the site data in the browser removes them.

The mail header analyzer processes the pasted header exclusively in the browser. Nothing is transmitted and nothing is stored. Nothing from the header is collected: no content, no addresses, no subject, no hostnames, not in evaluated or summarised form either. Nor is the fact that a header was analysed reported.

Newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter, your email address and, optionally, your first name are processed to deliver the newsletter after you confirm the signup (double opt-in). Delivery is handled by the service provider SMTP2GO. To protect the form against automated signups, Cloudflare Turnstile checks on submission whether the request comes from a human; in doing so, Cloudflare processes technical connection data (including the IP address). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

Objection

The analytics can be objected to at any time: through “Privacy settings” in the footer, or by refusing or deleting cookies in the browser settings. This applies going forward.

Disclosure and transfers abroad

To provide these functions I use service providers: Cloudflare (operation), PostHog (analytics), Microsoft (bookings), GitHub/Giscus (comments) and SMTP2GO (newsletter delivery), plus the parties named in the “Tools” section above: Cloudflare, Google, RIPE NCC, archive.prove.email and flagcdn.com. This may involve transfers abroad, subject to recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Rights of data subjects

Data subjects may request access to the personal data processed about them, as well as its correction or deletion. Such requests can be directed to the address above.
