What does an LEG change on the bill? The discount applies only to the grid-usage energy rate and only to the LEG share of consumption; the provider's service fee is deducted from it.

Practically cost-neutral: discount and service fee cancel out. Joining costs nothing, but saves nothing either.

For solar producers

Compares selling surplus into the LEG with the standard feed-in remuneration (reference market price with minimum remuneration and certificate revenue, capped by the accountability limit).

How the calculator works

Effect for consumers
LEG kilowatt-hours × (grid energy rate × discount − service fee). The discount applies only to the grid-usage energy rate and only to the share of consumption covered by simultaneous local production. Energy price, levies, metering and base fees remain unchanged. Franc amounts include 8.1% VAT.
Effect for producers
Surplus × (LEG remuneration − feed-in remuneration), split into winter and summer half-years. The feed-in defaults reflect effective EKZ 2026 values: reference market price or minimum remuneration, plus certificate revenue, capped by the accountability limit.
Where the defaults come from
From the EKZ tariff collection 2026 and the EKZ «Gemeinsamstrom» product (as of August 2026). Every value can be overridden, so the calculator works for any grid area whose tariff sheet you have.
